About Dr. Amanda Friedrichs, dermatologist

Dr. Friedrichs obtained her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

She received her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford and finished her medical internship at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

Dr. Friedrichs completed her dermatology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She now specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the many forms of skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis and performs a variety of cosmetic procedures.

To stay current as a skin doctor, and to offer only the best skin care options to her patients, Dr. Friedrichs has traveled across the country to numerous meetings to learn about the latest trends in cosmetic procedures and remains an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Instrumental in bringing the AAD’s “Indoor Tanning is Out” campaign to sororities and fraternities, she is also very involved in the education of our community regarding the dangers of indoor tanning for the best skin care.
