About Dr. Amanda Friedrichs, dermatologist

Dr. Friedrichs is a native of DeKalb. Dr. Friedrichs obtained her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She completed her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford and her medical internship at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of a variety of skin conditions in both the adult and pediatric populations; thus offering the service of dermatologic care for the entire family. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the many forms of skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis and performs a variety of cosmetic procedures.

To stay current as a skin doctor, and to offer only the best skin care options to her patients, Dr. Friedrichs has traveled across the country to numerous meetings to learn about the latest trends in cosmetic procedures and remains an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She was instrumental in bringing the AAD's "Indoor Tanning is Out" campaign to sororities and fraternities as she is very involved in the education of our community regarding the dangers of indoor tanning for the best skin care.
